Vicki first became intrigued with woodworking in 1986 when she watched a Shopsmith demonstration at a local home and garden show. At one time she even contemplated pursuing a job as a Shopsmith traveling salesperson. Consequently this "5-in-One" tool became her first workshop equipment. Quickly following this acquisition, she was hooked on woodworking and started selling small projects at a local craft mall. Although she now has quite an arsenal of tools, the Shopsmith still plays a small roll in many of her projects.
Woodworking takes on many forms for Vicki, such as re-purposing old furniture, creating new, custom furniture, home decor designs, or the everyday home improvement project. One of her favorite things to do is to incorporate found items into her projects. Although woodworking has been an integral part of her life throughout the years other interests, such as creating hand-forged metal jewelry and leather designs, have taken center stage on occasion. Vicki's projects are showcased on her website, on social media, and in her store on Saint Simons Island, GA, where everything in the store is handmade on the island by one of two local artists. When you get an opportunity visit her social media sites and "like", comment, or meander through. She would love to hear from you! And let her know if you would like to work on a custom project together.
